a Cute spring keychain or way to lace your sneakers
In honor of the spring getting here, here’s a little something for those that plan on a bit of spring cleaning weekend! (or month)
I know the Crafter math gets out of hand and likely your Craft supplies may need to be organized or you might just want to change the way you have them so. I know every so often we (or they) grow out of the current way they are orgaized.
So for your inspiration here are a few I liked and the link.
If you have any of your own ideas, or use any of these….I’d love to see them!
send the photo link in the comments I’d love to see what you did.
Depending on what you are working with there are 2 ways to do this
The first is if you want to ‘trace’ something into your journal or on a report etc. I learned about this recently.
This one is great for those of you that journal, or might want to make your own picture but can’t quite get it just right so you can use a few different images to put it together to create it
Get some GRAPHITE paper this can be erased after you have gone over it in the color you want.
make sure when you purchase in a store it says graphite as Carbon will not erase.
Transfer an image to wood, clay etc by using
a printed image, and some baby oil! as seen here
I’m posting this early as I’m sure it takes a while to plan and prepare. Here’s an idea for a Mothers’ day gift or a shower gift for a mom to be (especially if she will make her own baby food).
You can make it for one recipe throughout the book, or make each page a recipe. Either way this would make a great gift full of love for your mom of her, Yours or everyone in the family’s favorite recipe(s).
Even better, is your daughter getting married? Why not make this for her with the family recipes (especially ones passed down) This makes a lovely gift full of love, for anyone. I love the way they include the ingredients with little mini versions of what you need.
Search scrapbook Pop up books for inspiration or for a simpler, not as pretty version (good for school projects)
I’ve been Pen paling (yeah the snail mail way) since summer of 1994. I do still write to a couple of my original pals, as well as have some new ones. This year I thought of the idea of making a pen pal kit for a couple of mine. It’s a thoughtful gift, the box gives them something to lean on as well as store their paling supplies in, if they do not have a desk. Plus You can also (if you’d like) personalize the top of the box with a monogram, re-paint it or even use a nice tack paper on it especially if like me you use the good Cigar boxes. Sometimes you don’t even need to as some are nice enough looking.
Whatever your decision make sure you personalize it with some things they like as well as the sort of stationery they normally use (like Notecards, a writing tablet, or printer paper.) Include a pen, some stickers, and other assorted items.
Take a look at what I’ve included in mine.for my Pal Alisa (it was her 2016 holiday gift)
Sorry this cuts short
Good idea and at the same time I saw this it made me think, why ‘dress up’ the gift pouch when I could just make one with the fabric itself?
Or at least cover it to make a reusable little pouch. Not to mention that last part in the instructions having the card stock tag (I forget the name of them) over the fabric to me is a waste of time. If you are going to do that, the tag should not fully cover the fabric it should be 1/4 – 1/2 the size
Instead of making a separate paper tag, I’d just use the fabric I used to make a tag and include the person’s name so they can use it as a bookmark or something else. Or use a different pattern/color of fabric.
My idea for fabric tags is highly different than what is here. Why not make a tag you can maybe even put a few candies in (like how some hang a candy cane from a gift) You can even include a couple of dollars in it or instant lotto tickets. Also why not include the person’s name on the tag which in turn if they have a christmas tree they can hang it on as an ornament, or use as a bookmark, and if you include a magnet in it can be used to find messages on the fridge or on a hook and be used on a daily or weekly calendar they are only limited by their imagination.
Most of my ‘scraps’ are used for my Patchwork, but I have used it to make other things for family or friends like the gift bag I made last year for my friend Alisa… she likes horses and it had some on there with other western accent designs (she lives in Arizona). She just loved it I told her I made the bag for her gift but so she can reuse it for whatever she would need it for.
I got a whole heap of fabric items from my aunt Mary (I think I might be able to open my own store!!) it was like I think 4 big shopping bags FULL!!! but one of them was a Horse with Horseshoe design, maybe I’ll use some of it for a ‘tag’ or envelope or make something else with it when I get an idea.
Another great idea for this is why not make your own Halloween treat bags? (or for the kids you know best in the neighborhood or just use them as prizes for a party etc.)
The trick or treat bags are usually 3×6 inches in size and usually have 2 or more pieces of candy or other items in them, unless they are the birthday party LOOT bag size and therefore
The Party bag size should be bigger, prizes should be larger and have some sort of candy, and other item in them (small toys etc) Besides, they can reuse them for whatever they want and this way its part of the treat!
Make them with holiday designs or if there’s a birthday use a balloon or happy birthday design. Or find the kid’s favorite cartoon or game design on some fabric. and so on. These work for Host gifts for wine bottles (but you may have to pad it a bit) It’s like 2 gifts in one! They not only get the gift but can use the gift bag you make for them to throw things in for road trips to keep the kids entertained or can be used for a way to organize a purse, back pack, suit case etc. (Depending on the size you make it) or reuse for another gift.
I make the ‘Utility’ tags for $5 for one (that’s with their name, and are the sort that can be used as a bookmark, magnet, ornament etc)
Standard without Names is $10 for 20
Bags are $5 per bag. you can contact me here
I had searched for one to use for my purse for when I’m out on errands etc. A lot of the time I end up having to leave the house without eating or I’m just not hungry but after a few stops need something to eat. Plus in case I forget to put a new granola bar, Belvita biscuts or whatever else I usually throw in my purse, I will at least have something for back up. Now I didn’t see what sort of lining was usually used, so I had purchased a custom 4×3 size snack bag on etsy from this shop Man I love this thing! I just have to find the fabric so I can make a few as gifts. Currently the shop has some of the reusable snack bags for $3.00 a piece She uses some sort of not sure if it’s nylon fabric for the inside, but it’s not a regular fabric. I did a search and Found what the fabric is called ~ water resistant ripstop nylon
as for How to Make Your Own Reusable Snack Bags I looked through this, and frankly it looks like she just uses regular cotton type fabrics, which will likely get messy and frankly your sandwich or snacks to get stale by the time you eat them.
I try to avoid using plastic in our home as much as possible, but I understand the convenience of plastic baggies for snacks on the go. When I am out and about with the kids I like to keep some healthy snacks in my purse for when hunger strikes. There are a lot of great…
